Viewing our research, the relationships we build with professionals and clients, and the value we create as merely 'filling a position' would overlook the depth and significance of our work.
LinkedIn Messages and Responses…
The executive-level positions we post on LinkedIn naturally attract the interest of numerous valuable senior executives.
Because we use tags in some of our announcements, and because I come up when people look into E&G Partners, many reach out to me directly. My inbox fills up quickly, and I am often delayed in responding at the standard I would like to maintain. For this reason, I decided to use this article to share the questions I'm most often asked, along with some information I hope you'll find useful.
Why Can't I Respond Immediately?
Using a standardized reply on social media could speed up my response time. However, that's not my approach to work. I review each profile that sends a message, regardless of where it's from—some in more detail. Understanding the career paths and experiences of senior executives with 15-20+ years of experience takes time. Afterward, I respond to each executive individually (some professionals who have received my replies will understand what I mean). Time is valuable for all of us, so naturally, I prioritize specific conversations. With the support of my team, I organize introductory meetings in alignment with my work plan. This schedule doesn't solely depend on my work plan; it also considers the availability of the professional I want to meet and the location/region where we'll conduct the meeting. In short, we aim for mutual availability.
After an introduction, another skill comes into play: Relationship Management, or as it's commonly known, Networking.
Scope of Messages I Receive on LinkedIn…
Generally, the messages I receive fall into one of the following categories:
For a position, we have announced:
Senior executives who understand the depth and significance of our work may rightfully request an introduction for future opportunities (or for active but unannounced opportunities).
I value all the messages I receive, and since my responses can be delayed, I'd like to share the following information in advance.
My Recommendations for the Application, Evaluation, or Introductory Process…
If you are reaching out about one of the topics above, the following recommendations and additional information may be helpful.
If you feel the need to contact us after applying for a position we've announced:
Make sure you have reviewed the position requirements and completed your application.
At E&G Partners, we place great importance on crafting our announcement texts. When you review them, you'll notice no unnecessary details and fully understand what we're looking for. Data shows that most of this process is spent reviewing and filtering out applications that do not match the position. To use our time efficiently, we invest in technologies to streamline these processes. Please review the job announcement and follow the guidelines for a smooth application process. Submitting your application through our applicant tracking system ensures it is securely processed.
Check the confirmation email indicating that your application has been received by E&G Partners.
After completing your application, a confirmation email is sent to the email address you provided, confirming that we have received it. Since this email may be in your spam folder, please check this confirmation to ensure your application has reached us.
Ensure that you have granted GDPR consent.
Suppose this is your first application through our system. In that case, a message requesting GDPR consent will be sent to the email address you provided right after your application. Please use the link in this email to view the GDPR text on the linked page and ensure you consent at the bottom. Suppose you have previously applied through our system but did not provide GDPR consent. In that case, our team will ask you to give this consent before any potential meetings. E&G Partners does not conduct meetings with candidates who have not granted GDPR consent.
If you need to contact us before applying for a position we announced (likely to decide whether to apply):
Ensure you have thoroughly reviewed the announcement text.
As mentioned above, we at E&G Partners take great care in preparing our announcement texts. Occasionally, specific criteria may not be clearly stated in the announcement but could influence your decision to apply. For faster responses, you may contact us using the messaging feature on the E&G Partners LinkedIn Page.
If you need to contact us with an introductory request for potential future opportunities (or active but unannounced opportunities):
Rest assured that your profile will be thoroughly evaluated.
I want all senior executives who reach out independently of a specific application to know that I review, evaluate, and take notes on their profiles for future reference. Don't think, "They haven't even looked at my profile"—I don't intend to reveal all my professional secrets 😉 As my schedule allows, I organize introductory meetings with professionals in this group. For understandable reasons, I can't immediately contact everyone or conduct introductory meetings. Still, your profile is noted for future consideration for suitable positions.

How is the Executive Search Process Managed at E&G Partners?
At E&G Partners, the process begins with conducting a profile study tailored to our client's needs. This study helps clarify the experience required for the position and our client's priorities. Specific criteria may be critical for the position but cannot be clearly stated in the announcement. Afterward, our research team, led by project managers, starts identifying senior executives who perfectly match the defined profile and evaluating applications if the process involves an announcement. The entire process is managed electronically.
Project managers prioritize executives who closely match the profile and structure introductory meetings with them. Occasionally, prioritization is coordinated with the client.
Over the years, we have focused on this process the most to identify senior executives who perfectly match the position and avoid wasting time in meetings. The MUSEA mutual-suitability evaluation software developed by E&G Partners for its executive search process, used to identify the candidates who best match a position and to avoid wasted time in meetings. See in glossary → (Mutual Suitability Evaluation Process) software we use at E&G Partners was developed solely for this purpose.
Applications that do not fully match the profile are retained in the system for potential future opportunities.
I would like to emphasize once again to all professionals that the candidate evaluation processes at E&G Partners are meticulously managed. Every message and application we receive is carefully reviewed. If it aligns with current or future opportunities, it is duly evaluated.
