Description (Instagram Reels)

Is it harder to break the patterns of the current generation in family businesses, or to adapt the new generation to the process?

Actually, the issue here is not which is harder, but how clearly each side sees what it will gain from this change. The younger generation may be more willing, driven by the excitement of building the future; but if the motivation of the mother or father preparing to hand over the flag is managed correctly, that is when the real transformation begins.

Mr. Orhan, in family businesses, is it harder to break the fixed patterns of thinking in the current generation, or to adapt the new generation to this process? Actually, both are parties who will benefit from this process. If you can quickly clarify what benefit each of them will gain in this process, it is easy to work with both.

But of course, in terms of position, the young person is in a place where they need to prepare for this. So they may be more willing and see it as a necessity for themselves. But if there is a family member, a mother or father, who is willing and anxious about the transition to the next generation, their motivation in this process can be higher.

So it varies from case to case. I cannot say, for any specific group, that these are harder and these adapt more easily.
